On 13 Aug 1888, Casper Herps sold 50 acres of wooded knobs to Nicholas J. Weller as described below.

This indenture made and entered into this 13th day August 1888 between Casper Herps, party of the first part, and Nicolas J. Weller, party of the second part, all of Bullitt County, Kentucky. That the party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of $350 in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, and hereby conveyed with covenant of general warranty unto the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, a certain tract of land lying in Bullitt County, Kentucky on the south side of Salt River on a branch of Cedar Creek, which runs through the farm of G. W. Weller, deceased' heirs, and known as the Mulligan Hollow.
The track here in conveyed is bounded as follows. Beginning at a fallen hickory and chestnut oak stump., now a stone on the west side of said branch, corner to said Weller's 33 acre patent, and corner to his home tract; thence with a line of the home tract North 79° for 77° East 10 poles to a mulberry, hickory and sweet gum, corner to John Sam Greenwell; thence up the hollow with Greenwell's line South 10° West 42 poles to a black gum and small hickory, H. Trunnell's corner of his Holsclaw tract; thence with his line North 76° for 80° West far enough to a point and by running from said point due North to a line of said Weller's heirs, the corner to be planted when the land is surveyed; thence southeastwardly with Weller's line of this 33 acre patent South 46 1/2° for 49 1/4° East __ poles to the beginning. To contain fifty acres to be surveyed by me.
