On 4 Mar 1811, John Ray Sr. sold William Ray 200 acres of his 400 acre tract patented to him that lay along Crooked Creek.

This indenture made this fourth day of March and the year of our Lord, 1811 between John Ray Sr. of Washington county, and state of Kentucky, of the one Part and William Ray of the county of Bullitt and state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John Ray Sr. for and in consideration of the sum of 5 pounds to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, has bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain, sell, alien, and confirm into the said William Ray, his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing 200 acres, being 1/2 of the said John Ray Sr.'s 400 acres survey, lying and being in the aforesaid county of Bullitt on Crooked Creek, waters of Rolling Fork, and bounded as followeth.
Beginning at a stone marked W.R., corner to Joshua Ray, and running thence North 79° East 127 poles to two white oaks and an elm at the head of a small drain of the waters aforesaid, thence South 11° East 254 poles to three white oaks on the side of knob, thence South 79° West 127 poles to another stone marked W.R. standing in the fourth line of the aforesaid 400 acre survey and corner of the aforesaid Joshua Ray, thence with the dividing line between the said William and Joshua Ray North 11° West 254 poles to the beginning with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging.
To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances unto the said William Ray, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said John Ray Sr. for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators doth warrant and forever defend the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and its appurtenances unto the said William Ray, his heirs and assigns forever from all person or persons claiming by from or under him. In witness whereof the said John Ray Sr. hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date above written. (signed) John Ray Sr.
