John Rickerson to Lizzie Rickerson and George W. Rickerson - Town Lots

John and Eliza Rickerson deeded multiple town lots to their daughter-in-law Lizzie Rickerson, and their son George W. Rickerson in 1874. George died the next year.


Bullitt County Deed Book U, Pages 178-179

This deed made October 20th 1874 between John Rickerson and Eliza his wife of the first part, and Lizzie Rickerson, wife of J. I. Rickerson of the second part, and George W. Rickerson of the third part.

Witnesseth that the first parties hereby convey and delivers in consideration of one dollar and love and affection unto Lizzie Rickerson the southern one half of lots No. 19 & 20 in the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Ky.; also all of lots No. 33 and No. 34 in the town of Shepherdsville, the last two lots are vacant and not enclosed, to have and to hold the same to her forever; and the first parties convey and deliver and confirm unto George W. Rickerson of the third part all the balance of the landed estate of the first party lying in Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky where the first party now lives, being the northern half of lots 19 & 20 and all of lots 3 & 4 & 17 & 18 and so much of lots No. 1 & 2 as is not owned by George W. Simmons.

The conveyance of the lots aforesaid to George W. Rickerson are subject however to the life estate of the first parties, John Rickerson and Eliza his wife, and the use thereof for life of said John and Eliza are expressly reserved to them in the land here conveyed to G. W. Rickerson, but the fee simple title to the land conveyed to Lizzie Rickerson is passed to her without any reservations.

The first party has given to his children by the first wife all he intends for them to have of his estate. Witness the hands of the first parties October 20th 1874. (signed) John Rickerson
