Following the death of their son George W. Rickerson in January 1875, John and Eliza Rickerson deeded the town lots previously deeded to him to now go to Lizzie Rickerson, their daughter-in-law, and wife of their son Jack Rickerson, as shown below

This indenture made this 21st day of June 1875 between John Rickerson and Eliza his wife of the first part and Lizzie Rickerson, wife of J. I. Rickerson, of the second part.
Witnesseth that the first parties hereby give, grant, bargain and sell to the second part the following lots and fractional lots lying in the town of Shepherdsville, county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky, to wit: the northern one half of lots number 19 and 20, and all of lots number 3, 4, 17, 18. Also so much of lots number 1 & 2 as is not owned by George W. Simmons.
The consideration of this conveyance is love and affection which the first parties have for their son J. I. Rickerson and the further consideration that J. I. Rickerson or the second party shall furnish to the first parties any necessaries that they may stand in need of during their natural life, and to be furnished as they call for it and need it; but the first parties reserve the use for life to them or the survivor of either the property here conveyed.
To have and to hold said property unto the second party and her heirs forever subject to the life estate aforesaid. Witness our hands this 21st day of June 1875. (signed) John Rickerson, Eliza Rickerson
