John Rickerson to W. C. Rickerson - Two Shepherdsville Lots

In 1853, John and Eliza Rickerson sold 2 Shepherdsville lots (33 & 34) to their son William C. Rickerson who was then living in Louisville. These two lots lay south of Second Street and east of West Street.


Bullitt County Deed Book M, Pages 400-401

This indenture and deed of conveyance made and entered into this 2nd day of February 1853 between John Rickerson and Eliza his wife of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the first part and William C. Rickerson of the City of Louisville of the second part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of $400.00 in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, they the said parties of the first part hath granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the party of the second part two half acre lots in the town of Shepherdsville known by their numbers in the new plan of said town as Nos. 33 and 34 with all the appurtenances thereunto appertaining.

To have and to hold the said described two lots in the said town of Shepherdsville unto him the said party of the second part, his heirs &c in fee forever. And the said parties of the first part for themselves, their heirs &c do covenant with the party of the second part that they will and their heirs shall forever warrant and defend the title to said lots to the said party of the second part, his heirs &c. In testimony whereof the said parties of the first part, the grantors have set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. (signed) John Rickerson, Eliza Rickerson
