In 1850, Ezekiel Magruder sold Shepherdsville lots 4 and 20 to John Rickerson. Magruder had been the original purchaser of these lots which lay along the west side of Plumb Street between Second and Third Streets.

This indenture made and entered into this 25th day of June in the year of Christ 1850 between Ezekiel Magruder and Nancy his wife of the first part and John Rickerson of the second part, all of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky.
Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of sixty dollars in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, they the said party of the first part have this day bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain and sell, convey and confirm unto the parties of the second part two lots in the town of Shepherdsville known by their numbers in the new plan of said town as numbers 4 and 20.
To have and to hold the said described lots with all the appurtenances &c thereunto belonging to him the said parties of the second part for themselves, their heirs &c covenant and agree that they will warrant and defend the title to said lots unto the said parties of the second part, his heirs &c against the claims of all persons claiming or to claim the same. Witness the hands and seals of the grantors the day and year first above written. (signed) Ezekiel Magruder.
