McConathys to Troutman Bros - Part of 2 Town Lots

In 1894, Richard and Amelia McConathy sold parts of two Shepherdsville lots to the Troutman brothers. They were located near the southeast corner of Main and Second Streets, and would be part of where they would build their large store.

This deed made this 19th day of March 1894 by and between Richard McConathy and his wife Amelia L. McConathy, parties of the first part of Ocala, Florida, and Troutman Bros. composed of H. F. Troutman, C. F. Troutman and R. L. Troutman, parties of the second part of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky.

Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part, Richard McConathy and Amelia L. McConathy, for and in consideration of the sum of $1000.00 cash in hand paid, have bargained and sold, and do hereby sell, transfer and convey with covenant of general warranty to the said Troutman Bros., their heirs and assigns the following described real estate lying in Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky, to wit.

Parts of lots No. 41 and 42 of the plan of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, bounded on the west by Main Street, on the south by an alley, on the east by an alley, and on the north by lots owned by Troutman Bros., known as the Hogland Hotel property and purchased by Richard McConathy at Commissioner's sale in suit of Richard McConathy &c against W. J. McConathy &c in Bullitt Circuit Court. The said Amelia L. McConathy joins in this conveyance and hereby expressl relinquishes all right and claim of dower to the property here described.
