John Mooney to Wilhite Carpenter - Part of Town Lot 41

In September 1867, John Mooney sold part of Shepherdsville lot #41 to Wilhite Carpenter.

This indenture made and entered into the 2nd day of September 1867 by and between John Mooney and his wife Hannah of Bullitt County, Kentucky of the first part and Wilhite Carpenter of same county and state of the second part.

Witnesseth that the party of the first part in consideration of $600, $200 of which is in hand paid, and the receipt hereby acknowledged, the balance to wit, $400 due and payable in two and three years, $200 due in two years and the balance $200 due in three years from the date of this deed and notes this day executed, and a lein retained to secure their payment, they the first parties hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said second party with title fee simple and covenant of general warranty the following realty, to wit.

The store house and lot of ground in Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky formerly owned by Thixton and Hornbeck, being part of Lot No. 41 in the new plan of Shepherdsville on the corner of Main and Second Streets and contains 55 feet front running back 72 feet 8 inches less 17 feet front sold off the south side of said part of lot No. 41 to L. Hoglan by J. P. Weller, leaving of said lot No. 41 only 38 feet front running back 72 feet 8 inches hereby conveyed and being the same realty and appurtenances conveyed to the first party by R. J. Meyler, commissioner on behalf of Samuels Levi and Co. and recorded in Deed Book Q pages 302 and 303, Bullitt County Clerk's office.

To have and to hold said before described property and the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining against the claims of all persons whomsoever. Witness the signatures of the grantors this the 2nd day of September A.D. 1867. (signed) John Mooney, Hannah (her x mark) Mooney
