In this transaction, William Pope sold 7 acres adjoining Shepherdsville, and 4 different tracts located just south of the river to Francis Maraman on 20 Oct 1832, as shown below.

This indenture made this 20th day of October 1832 between William Pope of Jefferson County and State of Kentucky of the one part and Francis Maraman of the County of Bullitt and same State of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William Pope, for and in consideration of the sum of $360 current money of the United States to him in hand paid before the sealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said Francis Maraman a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being on Salt River in said County of Bullitt containing seven acres, part of Shepherd's 900 acre survey and bounded as follows, to wit.
Beginning at a stake at the intersection of William Pope's line with Scott's line, thence with Pope's line N 36° W 75 3/12 poles to a stake on East Street of the town of Shepherdsville, being a corner of said Maraman's tract of eight acres, two quarters and 36 3/4 poles, thence N 6 1/2° E 15 poles to a stake in McGee's line, thence with McGee's line S 35° E 75 3/4 poles to a stake in said line, being Scott's corner, thence with Scott's line S 6 1/2° W 15 poles to the beginning.
Also a certain tract or parcel of land containing 190 acres more or less situate lying and being on the south side of Salt River, being part of James Honey's 970 acre survey and bounded as follows, to wit.
Beginning at a stake in said Honey's eastern boundary and being corner to a tract heretofore conveyed by said Pope to said Maraman, thence with Maraman's line West 60 poles to his corner on the Rocky Branch being also a corner of the tract conveyed by said Pope to Charles Maraman, thence with Charles Maraman's line S 69° W 195 poles to a stake in Honey and Brend's line, thence with said line S 30° E 93 poles to a post, N 69° E 136 poles to a white oak and hickory, N 13° E 22 poles to the beginning.
Also a certain tract or parcel of land containing 251 acres situate lying and being on the south side of Salt River in Bullitt County, part of a tract conveyed by Adam Shepherd to the said Pope and bounded as follows, to wit.
Beginning at a stake in Honey's line and corner to May's 400 acre tract, thence with Honey's line S 13° W 135 poles to an old stumped white oak, corner to Honey, thence with another of Henry's lines S 69° W 130 poles to three white oaks, Honey's and Brend's corner, thence S 15° E 263 poles to two small pines, Bowman's corner, thence with Bowman's line N 25° E 288 poles to his corner of a red oak and two white oaks, thence with another of his lines S 65° E 130 poles to a stake in Benjamin Edwards' line, thence with Edwards' line N 22° W 185 poles to a stake in Mays' line, thence S 89° W 63 poles to the beginning.
Also a certain tract or parcel of land containing 30 acres more or less situate lying and being on the south side of Salt River in said County, part of Benjamin Edwards' 500 acre survey and bounded as follows, to wit.
Beginning at an elm, Spanish oak and white oak, beginning corner of said 500 acres and also corner to Pope and Froman's 400 acre survey, thence N 22° W 150 poles to a gum and two swamp oaks, a corner of said 500 acres, thence S 68° W 36 poles to a stake in Mays' line, thence with said line S 21° E 130 poles to a red oak, corner to Mays, thence with said line S 88° E 50 poles to the beginning.
Also a certain tract or parcel of land containing 173 acres more or less, part of said Benjamin Edwards' 500 acre survey on the south side of Salt River as aforesaid, and bounded as follows, to wit.
Beginning at an old stumped white oak, a corner to the land conveyed by said Pope to William Simmons, thence with Simmons' line S 22° E 197 poles to a stake in the southeastern boundary line of said survey of 500 acres, thence with said line S 68° W 126 poles to a white oak, hickory and elm in a small flat, thence N 22° W 294 poles to a stake in Mays' line, thence S 88° E 150 poles to the beginning.
To have and to hold the said tracts or parcels of land and appurtenances unto him the said Francis Maraman, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, and to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And the said William Pope covenants and agrees with the said Francis Maraman that he will and his heirs &c shall warrant and forever defend to the said Francis Maraman, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns the said tracts or parcels of land and appurtenances from himself, his heirs, executors and administrators and all persons claiming the same by from through or under him or them, and if the said tracts of land or any of them shall be taken away from said Maraman, his heirs &c by any better claim, the said Pope, his heirs &c shall refund the purchase money for the part so lost without interest. The tract of seven acres being estimated at four dollars per acre and all the rest at fifty cents per acre. Pope and Thomas Joyce, subscribing witnesses thereto, to be the act and deed of William Pope, grantor therein named for the purposes therein mentioned.
