Rickersons to Troutman Bros - Part of 1 Town Lot

In 1894, J. I. and Elizabeth Rickerson sold part of a Shepherdsville lot to the Troutman brothers. It was located on the southeast corner of Main and Second Streets, and would be part of where they would build their large store.

This indenture made and entered into by and between Elizabeth C. Rickerson and her husband J. I. Rickerson of the first part and Troutman Bros., H. F. Troutman, C. F. Troutman and R. L. Troutman of the second part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of $308.00 cash in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Elizabeth C. Rickerson and J. I. Rickerson have bargained and sold, and do hereby sell, transfer, convey, confirm and deliver with covenant of general warranty to the said Troutman Bros. the following described real estate lying in Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky.

A lot on southeast corner of Second and Main Streets, beginning at the intersection of Main and Second Street and running thence South 38 feet to Eagle now Hogland Hotel lot, thence East with said hotel lot 72 feet and 8 inches, thence North with said hotel lot 38 feet to the old Rickerson lot, now owned by Troutman Bros., thence West with the line of said lot 72 feet and 8 inches to the place of beginning, being the same lot conveyed by W. Carpenter to Elizabeth C. Rickerson, to the Troutman Bros., their heirs and assigns, to have and to hold forever. Witness our hands this 20th day of February, 1894. (signed) J. I.
