Anthony Shawler to Francis A. Burch - 24.75 Acres

On 20 Nov 1852, Anthony Shawler sold this tract to Francis A. Burch. It had earlier been part of John Macker's upper 500 acre survey, and adjoined the Pine Tavern tract along the waters of Cane Run. Burch would later sell the land to John M. Waters.

This indenture made this 20th day of November 1852 between Anthony Shawler and Elizabeth his wife of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky of the one part and Francis A. Burch of the County and State aforesaid of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Anthony Shawler and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of $50 to them in hand paid by the said Francis A. Burch, the receipt whereof the said A. Shawler and Elizabeth his wife do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold, aliened, released, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents do give, grant, bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said Francis A. Burch, his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land containing twenty four acres and three fourths of an acre lying and being situate in Bullitt County and State of Kentucky on the waters of Cane Run and adjoining the Pine Tavern tract and Peter Troutman's, it being a part of John Macker upper 500 acre survey; bounded as follows.

Beginning at a white oak and black oak on a ridge and running thence S 85° E 32 poles to a stump and beech, thence N 60° E 92 poles to 2 black oaks and hickory in a line of P. Troutman's and A. Shawler, thence with said line N 21° W 52 poles to a black oak and 2 white oaks corner to said Troutman and Shawler, thence S 46° W 130 poles to the beginning containing by survey twenty four acres and three fourths of an acre be the same more or less, with all its appurtenances.

To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular the appurtenances and hereditaments thereunto belonging unto the said F. A. Burch, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said A. Shawler and Elizabeth his wife do for themselves, their heirs &c further covenant and agree to and with the said F. A. Burch, his heirs and assigns, that they will forever warrant and defend the said tract or parcel of land unto the said F. A. Burch, his heirs and assigns, and against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatever.
