On 20 Jun 1864, Anthony Shawler sold this tract to Francis A. Burch. It lay along the waters of Cane Run. Burch would later sell the land to John M. Waters.

This indenture made and entered into this 20th day of June 1864 between Anthony Shawler and Elizabeth his wife of Bullitt County, State of Kentucky of the first part and Francis A. Burch of the second of the county and state aforesaid.
Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of sixty dollars to us the said Anthony Shawler and Elizabeth his wife inhand paid by the said Francis A. Burch, the receipt whereof they the said Anthony Shawler and Elizabeth his wife do hereby acknowledge and forever a quit the said F. A. Burch, they the said A. Shawler and Elizabeth his wife hath granted, bargained and sold and doth by these presents grant, bargain, sell, alien and confirm unto the said F. A. Burch a tract or parcel of land lying in the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky on the waters of Cane Run containing twelve acres more or less.
Beginning at a white oak and small chestnut oak, Gatch's line or Mackies' original line and corner to land sold by F. Gatch to Shawler, thence with Mackies' line N 45° E 30 1/2 poles to a white oak and black oak corner to 24 3/4 acres formerly sold by A. Shawler to F. A. Burch, thence with said line S 81° E 31 3/4 poles to a stake being N 23° E 20 links from a beech, thence N 60° E 17 poles to a stake in the middle of the county road, thence S 4° W 48 poles to a stone near the mouth of a hollow, thence up the hollow N 64 1/2° W 26 poles to a small hickory, thence N 88° W 35 poles to a stake in F. Gatch's line, being East 21 links from a chestnut oak, thence with Gatch's line N 25° W 11 1/2 poles to the beginning.
To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging to the same, to have and to hold the said land conveyed herein unto the said F. A. Burch forever. And the said party of the first part hereby warrant and defend the title from himself and his heirs and all persons or person whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Anthony Shawler together with Elizabeth his wife who hereby relinquishes her right of dower in and to the land conveyed in this deed, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and date above written.
