Thixton & Hornbeck to Jacob Bowman - Part of Lot 41

On 10 Jul 1839, John S. Thixton and Preston N. Hornbeck sold their part of Shepherdsville lot No. 41 to Jacob Bowman as shown below.

This indenture made this tenth day of July in the year of our Lord 1839 between John S. Thixton and Mary Ann his wife and Preston N. Hornbeck and Mary J. his wife of Bullitt County, Kentucky of one part, and Jacob Bowman of the same place of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said John S. Thixton nad Preston N. Hornbeck for and in consideration of the sum of $800 to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Jacob Bowman and to his heirs and assigns forever their store lot of ground in the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky, part of lot No. 41 in the new plan of said town, being a corner lot on Main Street on which the store house of said Thixton and Hornbeck is situate, being the same lot conveyed to said Thixton and Hornbeck by M. Wilson and wife and Samuel Wilson by deed dated 31st November 1836 of record in Bullitt County Court office in Deed Book H, page 375, adn sold and deeded to said W. & S. Wilson by Benjamin Summers by deed 26 May 1824 of record in said office in book E, page 218, which lot contains a front on Main Street of 55 feet and runs back 72 feet 8 inches, reference is had to the various deeds aforesaid, and the deed to Benjamin Summers for greater certainty of boundary with its appurtenances.

To have and to hold the said part of lot No. 41 as aforesaid unto him the said Jacob Bowman and to his heirs and assigns forever, and said Thixton and Hornbeck for themselves, their heirs &c to warrant forever defend the title to the said lot of ground here sold as aforesaid unto him the said Jacob Bowman and his heirs and assigns against the claims of themselves and their heirs and against the claims of all other persons whatsoever by this their deed in fee simple with general warranty. And whereas M & S Wilson have a lien on the lot aforesaid for the purchase money and interest .. thereon, said purchase money being now paid them in full, they relinquish therein lien as held. And fully confirm the deed to said Thixton and Hornbeck. Witness the hands and seals of the said grantors and their wives and of said M and S Wilson to relinquist their lien as aforesaid.
