W. C. Herps to Sarah Elizabeth Herps - Shepherdsville Tract

In May 1898, William Casper Herps deeds a tract of land located in Shepherdsville to his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Herps. It appears that this land had laid unclaimed, and he had staked his claim to it for a sufficient number of years to make it his.

Witnesseth that the party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar cash in hand, the receipt of which is here by acknowledged, and the further consideration of love and affection which he bears to the second party as his wife, hath bargained, sold, and given unto the second party, all his right, title, interest, and claim in and to a certain parcel of ground lying within the corporate limits of the town of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, described as follows.

Said property having been surveyed by the first party and claimed by him for a number of years sufficient to invest him with title to same.

To have and to hold unto the party of the second part, her heirs or assigns forever with covenant of quit claim against the claims of all and every person whomsoever.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hane and affixed my signature this May 17th 1898. (signed) W. C. Herps
