Wilhite Carpenter to Elizabeth C. Rickerson - 1 Town Lot

In May 1877, Margaret Caldwell joined with her daughter and son-in-law Lizzie and Jack Rickerson to sell 181 acres of land lying south of Shepherdsville to Wilhite Carpenter in exchange for a cash payment and the transfer of a town house and lot by Carpenter to Elizabeth C. "Lizzie" Rickerson. The deed of that transfer is shown below.

This indenture made and entered into this first day of May 1877 by and between Wilhite Carpenter of the first part and Elizabeth C. Rickerson of the second part, all of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky.

Witnesseth that party of the first part has this day sold and by these presents doth sell and convey unto the party of the second part one house and lot in the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky, situate on the southeast corner of Main and Second Streets, fronting on Main Street thirty-eight feet, running back seventy-two feet and eight inches. To have an to hold the same against me, my heirs and all others claiming the same with covenant of general warranty for which party of the second part hath this day paid to the party of the first part $350 in land this day conveyed to me by party of the second part. See deed conveyed to me by party of the second part and others, and Letitia Carpenter, wife of party of the first part doth hereby relinquish her right of dower in the land here conveyed.
