Robert & Mary C. Tyler and Logan Hedges - Land Swap

On 4 Feb 1893, Robert and Mary C. Tyler traded tracts of land with Logan Hedges in two deeds, shown below. The land that Hedges received was the same 212 acres that Mary Tyler had received by deed from Chaddic Johnson.


Bullitt County Deed Book 29, pages 592-593

This indenture made and entered into by and between Robert Tyler and Mary C. Tyler his wife, parties of the first part, and Logan Hedges of the second part, all of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the conveyance of certain parcels of land conveyed by the second party and wife to the first party containing 42 1/2 acres more or less, the said parties of the first part do hereby convey and transfer unto the said second party two certain tracts of land situated in Bullitt County, Kentucky containing about 212 acres, less 46 5/10 acres retained by the first party of the said 212 acres on the western end of the said tract, the dividing line between the tract herein conveyed and the one retained runs N 17 3/4° E 128 2/10 poles. The tract of land herein conveyed is the same land conveyed by Augustin Moreman and wife to Chaddic Johnson by deed recorded in the Bullitt county clerk's office and conveyed by the said Chaddic Johnson to Mary Tyler, said deed also recorded in the Bullitt county clerk's office, said deeds are referred to for a minute description of said land.

The first parties do hereby convey the land herein mentioned to Logan Hedges, his heirs and assigns forever, with covenant of general warranty. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this the 4th day of February 1893. (signed) Robert Tyler, Mary C. Tyler.


This indenture made and entered into this the 4th day of February 1893, by and between Logan Hedges and Mary C. Hedges, his wife, parties of the first part, and Robert Tyler party of the second part, all of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky. Witnesseth for and in consideration of a conveyance of certain parcels of land by the second parties, to the first party, situated in Bullitt County of even date herewith, the said first parties do hereby transfer and convey unto the said Robert Tyler, his heirs and assigns forever, with covenants of general warranty, the following described tracts of land situated in Bullitt County.

First tract bounded as follows: Beginning at a stake, division corner to lot 3 in Shanklin's line, thence with the same East 67 2/3 poles to a stake, division corner to lot No. 5, thence with same North 87 1/2 poles to a stake, division corner to Lot #1, thence with the same 67 2/3 poles to a stake, division corner to lot No. 3, thence with the same South 87 1/2 poles to the beginning containing 37 acres, more or less.

Second tract beginning at the corner to Linnie D. Robards and running thence with her line N 2° E 87 poles to her corner in said Wilson's line, thence N 88° W 10.11 poles to a stone, thence S 2° W 87 poles to a stone in Bell's Mill road and thence with same S 88° 10.11 poles to the beginning, containing 5 1/2 acres.
