In 1830, Wilford Lee sold parts of Shepherdsville lots 39 and 40 to Thomas Joyce which he had obtained in the sale of James Browns' property in the decree of Circuit Court in Elizabeth Griffin's suit against that estate.

This indenture made this 18th January 1830 between Wilford Lee and Margaret his wife of Bullitt County, Kentucky of the one part and Thomas Joyce of said county and state of the other part. Witnesseth that said Lee and wife for and in consideration of the sum of $225 current money of Kentucky to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Lee and wife have granted and sold and do hereby sell and convey to said Joyce one lot of land in the town of Shepherdsville made in the division of lots sold by commissioners as James Brown's property for the use of the Bullitt Seminary and being parts of lots No. 39 and 40 in he new plan of Shepherdsville and adjoining Thomas Joyce on the lower side, being 39 feet 8 3/4 inches front on Main Street and running back 198 feet 11 inches, being the same conveyed to Wilford Lee by the commissioners at Brown's sale made decree of Bullitt Circuit Court of Elizabeth Griffin vs said Brown's estate.
To have and to hold the lot of land aforesaid to him the said Thomas Joyce, his heirs and assigns forever and the said Lee hereby covenants to and with siad Thomas Joyce and his heirs that he will warrant and defend the lot of land here sold to him the said Thomas Joyce and his heirs forever from himself and his heirs and from the claims of all either persons claiming under him and none others.
